Today we showed solidarity with the protests against the construction of the border fence and the prison-like camps in Poland with a banner drop at the harbor in Oldenburg! No to the wall! #niedlamuru!

For years, hundreds of kilometer of barbed wire fences have been sprouting from the ground along borders all over Europe. The so-called security industry in the industrial-military complex of Fortress Europe is booming thanks to the business with thermal cameras, barbed wire, motion sensors and drones. Following the escalation of brutal attacks on asylum-seekers at the Polish-Belarusian border in recent months, the construction of a 186-kilometer-long, 5.5-meter-high fence with a total budget of 353 million Euro has begun there as well. For the construction of the wall, a corridor of devastation will be cut through the primeval forest of Białowieża. Human lives, international law and nature clearly lose all meaning when it comes to EU migration control and fortification.

The resistance against the construction of the wall and the destruction of the Białowieża Forest is growing in Poland and beyond. For weeks, protests have been taking place in front of construction sites and in major cities, despite a heavy police presence and state repression. No Borders Team Poland has also published a list of all the companies involved in the construction of the wall, which are also adressed by protest actions. At the same time, protests are being organized inside and outside the many prison-like refugee camps in Poland, after people have repeatedly gone on hunger strike against the unspeakable conditions.

We stand in solidarity with all protests against the wall, the detention of people seeking protection and the Europe of fences and borders! Let’s build bridges instead of walls! nie dla muru! No to the wall!

#NIEDLAMURU!

Od wielu lat, setki kilometrów muru kolczastego wyrasta z ziemi wzdłuż granic całej Europy. Tak zwana branża bezpieczeństwa w kompleksie militarno-przemysłowym Europy kwitnie dzięki biznesowi stosującemu kamery termowizyjne, ogrodzenia z drutu kolczastego, czujniki ruchu i drony.

Opór przeciwko budowie muru i niszczeniu puszczy Białowieskiej narasta w Polsce i poza nią. Zespół „No borders Polska“ sporządził też listę wszystkich firm zaangażowanych w budowę muru, do nich też skierowane są bezpośrednie protesty.
